TENA - ECUADOR, FEBRUARY 9 - 13, 2009 |
| |
A new group of professionals and volunteers leaded by Dr. Washington Zambrano left again the Quito headquarters to serve the people of Tena; which is the capital city of the Ecuadorian province of Tena. Once in Tena, our volunteers had to visit the communities of Atahualpa and Quilluyacu. Dr. Elena Gutierrez who serves as the Director of the Charity Anywhere Medical Center in Tena was the person in charged of the logistics. It is important to mention that towards the end of 2008, the Municipal government of Tena subscribed a Covenant of Technical Assistance with the Charity Anywhere Foundation where both parts agreed to help develop the Medical Center-now presided by Dr. Gutierrez. The participants of this medical mission were: Dr. Christina Dillon (American-Certified Family Physician), RN Manuel Tixicuro and Mr. Ulysses Flores at pharmacy. The dental clinics had Dr Tapia (DDS), Dr. Mantilla (Oral Rehabilitation), Dr. Fabian Lopez (DDS), Dr. Bayas (DDS), Dr. Armijos (DDS), and Carlos Celin (Equipment Technician). The medical consult performed this way: |

DENTAL REPORT |
The Dental clinic at the community of Atahualpa had an irregular attendance, mostly owed to the bad electrical power in the area. The air compressor used for mobile clinics broke down, which made impossible our efforts to keep assisting needy people the first day. Another limitation was the Tena-city annual festivities. This did not help getting a good amount of patients in our clinics. But in any case, those who came for help were thankful and please. The numbers at next:
