The LDS Missionaries and Charity Anywhere combined efforts in Otavalo to participate in the mission program, Salud-Salud, an all-day welfare and health fair. With the help of 3 dentists, interns from CAF , nurses, and full-time missionaries, 21 people were able to receive medical attention, and 50 people were attended to by dentists. Translators were often used because use many people in Otavalo only speak Quichua. 1t was a great experience to learn more about the Otavalan culture; their dress, dietary customs, traditions, work, and their way of life in general. |
